What an interesting start to the winter....

Winter definitely came on strong!  The odd part is that as of yet I have not seen the thermometer drop below 34 degrees, the snow is melting as we speak!  And yet it continues to pile up, and up, and up....

Despite the fact that we have had a couple of inches of melt and compression, this is what I measured out in the yard.
Yep, a nice solid 13 inches of snow.
We are not done yet, we are forecast to get 10-14 inches just today, although the warm temperatures are repressing the snowfall a little bit down at the bottom of the hill, the last reports I am hearing from up the hill is they have a solid 18 inches too two feet.

We have only had one sad note, it seems the old chicken coop did not fare as well as it had in previous winters, although we never heard anything during the night this is what it looked like this morning.

As you can see the bean that held the roof up ripped right out of the end of the coop, I have a feeling this is not going to be cleaned up until spring as this snow is going to stick around for a bit.
